EU propose new associate membership treaty to Armenia
 
Meeting of the interdepartmental commission on coordination of cooperation between state bodies of Armenia and European structures, chaired by the RA National Security Council Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan was held September 26.  
 
The meeting discussed implementation of 2009-2011 Action Plan between RA and EU in the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy. To implement 197 activities in various areas of country's public life, 20 working groups have been formed already. 
 
RA deputy foreign minister Karine Ghazinyan presented the course of negotiations to conclude agreements on Armenia's associate membership in EU. As she informed, as part of the EU Eastern Partnership Armenia is offered to conclude a new agreement on associate membership.  
 
Following the proposal of Armenia's Ombudsman a working group formed to discuss the draft of legislative changes, developed by European experts and Ombudsman's office. This project will be submitted to the RA government.  
 
The Commission attached importance to effective implementation of the "Eastern Partnership" program which will enable to form a simplified visa regime between Armenia and the European Union, press office of the Council of National Security reports.
