Armenian fencers to compete start at world championship in Turkey

Armenian fencers Mikael Ghazaryan, Arkady Muradyan and Edgar Avetisyan guided by the coach Alexander Navasardyan September 28 left for Turkey, where the World Cup started on September 30 in Antalya.

Armenian sportsmen will start competing on October 1. The Armenian team was preparing in training camps between September 7 and 28.

As Artashes Madoyan, secretary general of the fencing federation of Armenia told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, if the Armenian athletes get to the 1/16 finals, it would be a success.

"It is pointless to hope to achieve top places. The best option for us is 1/16 finals. Usually 140-150 athletes take part in the world championship, and for our fencers to be among the first 32 athletes would be a success," the coach said.
