It depends on the entire Armenianhood whether the recent Armenian-Turkish developments can split Armenia and Diaspora, Armenian Assembly of America Country Director for Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh Arpi Vartanian said.

"Opinions differ but it doesn't mean than we can become enemies," she said. "Diaspora Armenians are heirs of Genocide survivors and they have the right to express their views. We should just develop the mechanism of holding the dialogue between Armenia and Diaspora."

Commenting on Turkish President's statement that in order to normalize relations with Turkey Armenia should get rid of Diaspora's viewpoint, Mr. Vartanian said it's "unreal and proves the Turkish leader's fear."
