Turkey seeks to bury unanswered questions of history forever
The leader of the Heritage Party " Raffi Hovannisian disseminated an open letter in connection with the signing of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols. That letter particularly says that the Protocols can become the last entry in the chronicle of crimes committed against the Armenian people.

In his letter, Raffi Hovannisian stressed that Armenia pays high price for "open borders" with Turkey, while other civilized nations get them for free.

He also raised the issue of recognition of the borders, emphasizing that the protocols require from Armenia to abandon the historic rights of the Armenian people and recognize de jure the existing de facto borders, outlined as a result of massive annihilation of Armenians by Turkey.

The leader of the Heritage Party stressed that the Protocols include the issue of bilateral condemnation of terrorism, while evade the condemnation of the Armenian Genocide.

Raffi Hovannisian points that Protocols require to initiate a dialogue in a historical perspective, that not only casts doubt on the indisputable fact of the Armenian Genocide, but also ensures culpability of the Armenian state and save Turkey from responsibility for the massacres and Genocide.
The procedure of ratification of these documents by the parliaments of two countries contradicts the usual diplomatic practice, when formal relations between states are established through a simple transfer of relevant documents, Raffi Hovhannissian writes.

The author believes that the current protocols will not bring Armenia to a complete reconciliation, which is based on the courageous recognition of all aspects of the Armenian - Turkish history, including the Armenian Genocide and the deprivation of the Armenians from their homeland.

In his address, Mr. Raffi Hovannisian stressed that the Protocols are aimed to bury unanswered questions of history forever.
