Despite denial of Yerevan mayor's office, ARF to hold protest rally
Despite Yerevan mayor's office banned the protest rally envisaged for October 16 at the Charles Aznavour square, the action will be held, one of ARF Dashnaktsutyun leaders Vahan Hovhannisyan told a news conference in Yerevan today.

According to him, the party decided to hold a protest rally, since a refusal of the mayor's office is deprived of any ground.

"Mayor's office did not suggest us to organize a rally in another location, but only verbally informed that on that day another event will be organized in the square, and details of that event were allegedly posted on their official website," Vahan Hovhannisyan said. Members of the faction repeatedly checked the site, but there was no information about any event.

Vahan Hovhannisyan commented on the statement of the "Heritage" faction: requirement of President's resignation. Despite the fact that all parties have united around one goal - to defeat the ratification process of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols, each party has a right to have own agenda, he said.

"In order to stop the process of ratification of the Protocols, we will use all the means, if necessary will demand the power shift," member of the ARF stressed.
