Armenia switches to winter time on October 25
On the night of October 25, Armenia will switch the clocks to the winter time. The clocks will be set an hour back at 03:00 a.m. local time on the night of Sunday.
This change is believed to save energy and is applied in 110 countries throughout the globe.
The idea of daylight saving was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin (portrait at right) during his sojourn as an American delegate in Paris in 1784, in an essay, "An Economical Project."
