Armenia started exploring uranium deposits
Armenia has started exploration of uranium deposits, deputy minister of energy and natural resources Areg Galstyan said, addressing a round table "Problems of interaction between Russia and Armenia in the field of energy", organized in the framework of EXPO-RUSSIA 2009 Armenia second annual exhibition in Yerevan.
"We implement the works with a local company, with 50 per cent participation from both sides," he said. According to Areg Galstyan, exploration works will last several years, after which "we will have clear understanding of availability of the uranium reserves in Armenia".
