State, not parties should address St. Gevorg Church issue
Our party can make 10 statements referring to the destruction of the St. Gevorg of Mughni Church in Tbilisi, but it will not change anything, Gurgen Eghiazaryan, board member of the Hnchak Social-Democratic Party said.

"The Armenian state, not political parties should address the issue," he told a press conference in Yerevan on Thursday.

According to him, the Armenian authorities must also protect the rights of the Armenian population in Javakhk, being in a very difficult socio-economic state.

Saint Gevorg (Surb Gevorg) of Mughni Armenian church, built in the Georgian capital in 1356 collapsed last November 19. Armenian Apostolic Church accused Georgian authorities of indifference to preservation of Armenian shrines.
