Yerevan teems with minibuses
Armenia is one of few countries with electricity surplus, which can be used to ease surface traffic, according to Armen Poghosyan, chairman of Consumers' Association of Armenia.

"Our monitoring showed that passenger transportation by minibuses accounts for 80 per cent of all passenger traffic in Yerevan," he told a news conference on Friday. "The government should make efforts to change the situation," he said.

Representative of the Yerevan municipality Karen Hakobyan, for his part, commented, "We cannot change mentality of the people and force them to use buses or trolleybuses. City municipality is developing a new transportation routes project which will require 800 buses."
