Jazz helps Aronian, clothes and pens assist Akopian, day regimen effective to Petrosian.
Top-rated grandmasters of October rating talked about their omens and superstitions, the FIDE official website wrote. Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian (4th, 2786) likes listening to music before the game: ''I have a musical ritual. As a rule, I prefer jazz''.

Vladimir Akopian (35th place, 2700) says that all chess players tend to be superstitious, and many are attentive to their cloth. ''If you are defeated, you just put aside the cloth you weared.  Some people pay attention to the pens,'' Mr. Akopian said.

As Grandmaster Tigran Petrosian told a PanARMENIAN.Net, he is not superstitious, but believes in omens. ''In every tournament I do the same thing, I go to bed at the same time, watch the same program. Of course I do not play in the same clothes in all days of tournaments,'' Tigran Petrosian said.
