Swedish diplomat doesn't rule out EU's intensifying its role in regional conflicts settlement
The European Union plays an active role in resolution of regional conflicts, Sweden's Ambassador to South Caucasus Hans Gunnar Aden said.

"The EU has a special representative in the South Caucasus whose task is to help the countries settle conflicts," he told a briefing in Yerevan.

The Swedish diplomat did not rule out that the EU will intensify its role in such processes.

At that, he noted that the recently signed Lisbon Treaty stipulates for merging the posts of High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy and European Commissioner for External Relations into the post of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
