Iran seeks to remind of itself by statement on Karabakh mediation
Iran always expressed its readiness for mediation in Karabakh conflict settlement process.

"Iranian Foreign Minister gave no new information in his statement," Noravank research foundation deputy director, Iranologist Sevak Sarukhanyan told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

"Iran was the first country to act as a mediator between Armenia and Azerbaijan. By expressing readiness to become a mediator, Tehran seeks to reestablish its regional presence and show its interest in Karabakh conflict settlement," Sevak Sarukhanyan said.

According to him, OSCE MG is the optimal format for Karabakh conflict settlement; in these conditions Tehran will hardly manage to become a mediator.

As Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Motakki stated at the meeting with Azeri colleague Elmar Mammedyarov, Iran is ready to become a mediator in Karabakh conflict settlement.
