Soundman Yuri Sayadyan passes away after lingering illness
Renowned cinematographer and soundman Yuri Sayadyan passed away on Sunday after a lingering illness.

A highly professional master of his art, Sayadyan created films which best reflected a team work.

His talent as a soundman received viewers' high esteem in such films as The Good Half of Life, Matenadaran, The Merry Bus, Parajanov: The Last Collage and A Piece of Sky.

The civil funeral is due on December 21, Armenian Cinematographers' Union reports.

Yuri Sayadyan was born in 1935 in Pyatigorsk, Russia. In 1956, he left a secondary school. While a school student, he worked in Armenfilm studio (beginning 1952). Then he furthered his studies as correspondence student in Leningrad Institute of Film Directors. Starting from 1967, Sayadyan was a soundman in Armenfilm. From 1992 onwards, he was the head of sound editing studio.
