Armenia not to attend Black Sea Summits


Black Sea Summit organized by the Assembly of European Regions (AER) will be held on February 15 and 16 in Paris, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the source, the summit will focus to the environmental issues and tourism in the Black Sea basin. The event will bring together representatives of Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Russia, Bulgaria and Romania.

As Emin Yeritsyan, deputy head of the Association of Territorial Authorities told PanARMENIAN.Net, Armenia will not participate.

Assembly of European Regions (AER) is European intergovernmental organization established in 1985, and by late 2008 united more than 270 regions from 33 countries and 16 interregional organizations. AER is aimed to organize and promote dialogue among all the European regions, as well as to strengthen their role in the regional scale. AER General Secretariat is based in Strasbourg (France). There are offices in Brussels (Belgium) and Alba-Iulia (Romania).
