Armenian well-known education and cultural workers awarded


On February 20, according to a decree issued by RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, a number of Armenian well-known education and cultural workers were awarded with certificates of RA Ministry of Education and Science in the framework of the <b>Native Language Day</b>.

Manuk Mkrtchyan, RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science, handed the certificates.

“If we have to appoint a special day for our native language, so it's in danger. We should understand that the language forms our thinking and lifestyle and we should maintain and take care of it,” he mentioned.

Ruben Sakapetoyan (PhD in Philology), Aelita Dolukhyan (PhD in Philology), linguist Lavrenti Mirzoyan (candidate of Pedagogy), Haikuhi Kupelyan, Head of Nork-Marash Education Department; Samvel Karapetyan, writer-publicist and editor of “Narek” children’s and junior magazine; Juliet Gyulamiryan (doctor and professor in methods of primary school teaching), as well as Gagik Minasyan and Gegham Nurijyan, chief and deputy editors of “Education” weekly journal, received the certificates.

Leila Saribekyan and Azat Gasparyan, Honored Art workers were also among the nominees.

Narine Gasparyan, Deputy Director of Yerevan N62 school, Nerses Atabekyan, editor-in-chief of “02” weekly journal, and Daniel Erazhisht were nominated to special awards.
