The U.S. House Foreign Affairs will vote on the Armenian Genocide Resolution (H.Res.252) today, March 4, 2010 beginning at 10:00am EST in presence of Armenian community leaders Kenneth V. Hachikian, Chairman of the Armenian National Committee of America, Aida Dimedjian, Chairwoman of the Armenian National Committee Western Region.

There will be several Armenian Genocide Survivors in attendance at the Committee vote, including Yeretzgeen Sirarpi Khoyan: 105-years old, born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1905. Onorik Eminian: 97 years old, born in Smyrna, Turkey, on May 5, 1913. Charlotte Kechejian: 98 years old, born in Nikhda, Turkey, on July 12, 1912.

Armenian Americans and anti-genocide activists from across the U.S. will be watching the House Foreign Affairs Committee mark-up of the Armenian Genocide Resolution (H.Res.252), in the hope that the panel's support will mark a step toward ending Turkey's gag rule on U.S. affirmation of this crime against humanity.

U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide enjoys broad bipartisan support including Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
