Armenia and Turkey not ready to normalize relations

These steps of the U.S. legislators and Turkey’s reaction make obvious the unpreparedness of the Armenian-Turkish normalization and its dependency not on interests of Armenian and Turkish societies, but on external forces, Andrei Areshev , Deputy Director general of Strategic Culture Foundation told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. In his opinion, now it is high time to wait, rethink the situation, develop new approaches, since obviously the Zurich Protocols will not be ratified. "Accordingly conversations about the link between Armenian-Turkish normalization and the Karabakh conflict resolution on the conditions preferential to Azerbaijan are losing any ground," Areshev stressed.

On March 4 the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs adopted Armenian Genocide resolution (H.Res.252) by 23 votes “in favour” and with 22 votes "against". After the vote in the appropriate committee, the resolution will be sent to the House of Representatives for a final vote.
