US SECRETARY OF STATE DISCUSSED ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS WITH TURKISH LEADERSHIP
Yesterday at the meetings of the US state Secretary Colin Powell and Turkey's President Ahmed Sezer, Prime minister Bulent Ejevit and foreign minister Ismail Jem discussed the outlooks of Armenian-Turkish relations and the process of the Caucasus region conflict settlement as well as many other issues. At the joint press conference Turkey's foreign minister stated «We have discussed the current situation in the Caucasus that is treat with caution by us». The details of the talks were not informed. It should be reminded that the day before Powell's official visit to Ankara, Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues Co-Chairs Congressmen Joe Kollenberg and Frank Pallone had called on Secretary of State to urge Turkey's leadership to raise their blockade of Armenia.
