TURKISH MILITARY UNITS MAY TAKE PART IN NATO EXERCISES IN ARMENIA
Turkey's participation in NATO military exercises planned to be held in Armenia in 2003 is not excluded. As reported by "Arminfo" agency, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, lieutenant general Mikael Harutyunian stated it in an interview to "Liberty" radio station. In his words, the list of the countries that will participate in the exercises will be defined more exactly in the course of negotiations in 2002. Harutyunian stressed preparation to it would begin next year. Coalition peacekeeping battalions will participate in the exercises within the framework of the NATO program.
