Erdogan will travel to Washington

Turkey's ambassador will return to the United States next week, a month after a row over a U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee’s passage of the Armenian Genocide resolution, H.Res.252, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday.

"I will send the ambassador to the United States next week," Hurriyet cited Erdogan as saying.

Stressing "positive developments" in efforts to end the spat with Washington, Erdogan said he himself will also travel to the U.S. capital to attend a nuclear security summit on April 12-13.

Ankara recalled ambassador Namık Tan on March 4, immediately after the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed the Armenian Genocide resolution.
