EU interested in socio-economic development of Armenia

RA prime minister Tigran Sargsyan received a European Union delegation headed by EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Füle, being on a regional visit in Armenia, press office of the government of Armenia reported.

Welcoming the guests, the prime minister noted that Armenia is satisfied with the progress of ongoing joint programs with the EU, adding that much work has to be done in this direction.

In turn, Stefan Füle noted, that the EU is interested in socio-economic development of Armenia. He said, the formation of new contractual relations between the EU and Armenia will help to review and evaluate the programs carried out to date and discuss possible ways of deepening relations furthermore.

The officials discussed the National Indicative Program for 2011-2013 in frames of "Eastern Partnership". The Prime stressed, that formation of democratic structures and effective management system are priorities for the country. They will reduce corruption, promoting small and medium businesses and more transparent works style of businesses.

Tigran Sargsyan stressed importance of signing in-depth and comprehensive free trade agreement, involving reforms within the next three years. The third priority is the need to implement activities towards socio-economic reforms and sustainable development.
