FOUNDER OF CHRISTIAN-DEMOCRATIC UNION SENTENCED TO CONDITIONAL DEPRIVATION OF LIBERTY
Yesterday hearing of the case of former deputy of the Armenian Parliament, founder of the "Christian-Democratic Union", "Independence Army" non-governmental organization board member Azat Arshakian was held. As we have reported, he was accused of illegal arms and ammunition storage. Taking into consideration a number of extenuating circumstances, as well as Arshakian's deserts in the cause of the homeland defense, the court passed a sentence on conditional deprivation of liberty for two years. The court modified the preventive punishment and Azat Arshakian was released right in the court hall.
