AZERBAIJAN WANTS NO CONTROL OVER ANTIAIRCRAFT-ROCKET COMPLEXES TRADE
The initiative of Russian defense minister Sergey Ivanov concerning tightening of control over portable antiaircraft-rocket complexes (PARC) trade within the CIS was not supported by the representatives of the CIS member-states Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Meanwhile the majority of participants in the CIS defense ministers Council sitting taken place in Kazakhstan, namely the representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghisia, Moldova, Russia and Tajikistan spoke in favor of tightening the measures on trade of PARC of "Igla" and "Strela" type and in favor of presenting the document to the CIS states leadership ratification.
