Microsoft’s Innovation Center in Yerevan to assist local producers

Director of Microsoft Armenia Grigor Barseghyan said that the first innovation center of the Caucasian region will be established in Armenia this year. It will be equipped with modern servers, network equipment and technologies, Barseghyan told a press conference in Yerevan on May 20.

“Microsoft’s Innovation Center will be cooperating with any companies – both with partners and with competitors. The Center aims to make modern technologies available for local specialists and companies, as well as for common users,” Mr. Barseghyan said.

The project will be financed by all its partners within three years. According to the Director of Microsoft Armenia, its budget is over $2.5mln as of today.

“We strongly believe that the Center will be able to cover its expenses already in three years,” said Mr. Barseghyan.

According to the specialist, the initiative aims to create Armenian products and services, which will be sold abroad that will allow balancing the current situation, when Armenian specialists basically implement foreign orders.

“Microsoft will become the best partner in Armenian products sale, as the company has great marketing opportunities and experience,” said Barseghyan.

The Center will be established at the territory of the State Engineering University of Armenia.
