The United Nations mandate doesn’t envisage participation in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process but the Organization is hopeful that the conflicting sides will register progress, a representative of the UN Secretariat said.

The official also told PanARMENIAN.Net that UN Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon did not send any letter to the Azerbaijani representation to the UN.

Earlier, Azeri media spread reports that Mr. Ban sent a letter, saying that “he is pleased with intensification of the negotiation process.”
