European Commission develops terms for relaxation of visa regime for Eastern Partnership member-countries

Plenipotentiary of Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Eastern Partnership Andrzej Cieszkowski said that the EU wants to sign an agreement on relaxation of visa regime with the Eastern Partnership member-countries during the Spanish Presidency.

"The European Commission has started developing terms, which should be met by the member-countries for relaxation of visa regime," Mr. Cieszkowski told journalists in Warsaw.

He added that Budapest will host a summit of heads of the Eastern Partnership member-countries and EU on May 19, 2011. "We should arrive at the summit with certain results," the Polish diplomat said.

Estimating Armenia's activity in the Eastern Partnership at the request of a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Cieszkowski stated that Armenia is active in issues of democracy and human rights.

As for financial issues, he added that the European Commission will allocate 30mln euros to facilitate the development of small and medium businesses in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine.
