Israel and Turkey are not likely to break off diplomatic relations at the moment, according to Alexander Tsinker, ICES President and East European States & CIS Institute director.
“However, the situation has changed. Relations transformed from ‘strategic partnership’ into ‘cold peace’. All tourist tours to Turkey have been cancelled. Israel soldiers and police officers are prohibited from visiting Turkey. Meanwhile, the Israeli Foreign Minister closely watches the situation and hopes that’s Erdogan’s hysteria is waning,” Mr. Tsinker told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
He also said Israel’s intelligence chief Dan Meridor canceled a trip to Istanbul, where he was excepted to attend the Conference on Interactions and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
