Armenia opposes granting BSEC PA observer status to Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries

Armenia has opposed granting an observer status in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC PA) to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries.

“Unless Turkey and Azerbaijan alter their position on the issues vital for Armenia, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries will not be granted an observer status,” said Gagik Minasyan, head of the Armenian parliamentary delegation to BSEC PA.

The head office of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries is located in Baku, with a representative of the Azerbaijani ruling party as its Secretary General. The Assembly includes Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
