Social co-payment pilot program launched in Armenian medical establishments

The Armenian government has approved addenda to the bill envisaging introduction of pilot mechanisms of social co-payments in the republic’s medical establishments.

Healthcare Minister Harutyun Kushkyan noted that the new mechanism will allow forecasting the volume of compensation for the population, improving financial management in medical institutions and raising medics’ salary.

“The program will be first launched in Arabkir, Erebuni and Saint Grigor Lusavorich medical centers,” he said.

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said for his part that “a comprehensive medical reform will kick off in the republic with the launch of this program.”
