The U.S. is starting a new round of foreign policy, getting isolated and gradually quitting Middle East, Turkologist Artak Shakaryan presumes.

“This means that Washington will not be deeply involved in regional issues any longer,” he told a news conference in Yerevan on June 18.

“Turkey’s activation in the region is conditioned by this fact,” he said, adding that unless Armenia normalizes relations with Turkey, the latter’s achievements will cause the former’s regress.

“Russia is not going to remain aside either, trying to control both normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and Karabakh settlement,” Shakaryan said.

He also noted that revival of Protocols during the next couple of years is senseless.
