Public opinion poll: global economic crisis affected budget of 34% of Armenian families

90% of respondents in Armenia were aware of the economic crisis in November 2008. Meanwhile their number increased to 100% in April and November 2009 and again dropped to 96% in June 2010, what is explained by lessening of the information pressure, a report by the Armenian Marketing Association says.

Meanwhile, answering the question whether the global economic crisis will affect Armenia’s economic situation, 47% of Armenian respondents gave positive answer, 22% of them said that it has already affected the situation, 5% said that the crisis will have a partial impact on Armenia, 3% of respondents gave negative answer and 3% of them were in difficulty to answer the question in November 2008. It is noteworthy that the votes of respondents answering the same question distributed as follows in April 2009: 20%, 71%, 5%, 3% and 1% respectively, while in June 2010 - 38%, 41%, 8%, 10% and 3% respectively.

Answering the question whether the global economic crisis will affect the economic situation of their families, 43% of respondents gave positive answer, 22% of them said that it has already affected the situation, 18% said that the crisis will have a partial impact, 19% of respondents gave negative answer and 3% of them were in difficulty to answer the question in November 2008. Meanwhile, the votes of respondents answering the same question distributed as follows in April 2009: 21%, 58%, 12%, 8% and 1% respectively, while in June 2010 - 32%, 34%, 15%, 16% and 3% respectively.

According to the public opinion poll, 62% of respondents have started saving on purchases in April 2009, while this figure amounted to 65% and 66% in November 2009 and June 2010 respectively.
