"We congratulate the people of the U.S. on Independence Day. Since the very first days of Armenia's independence, the U.S. has been at our side, and we appreciate the great contribution that you have made in the development and strengthening of the Armenian-American relations," said Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian during a joint briefing with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Yerevan.

For her part, Hillary Clinton noted that she is very glad to be on a visit to Armenia. "Today, the U.S. celebrates the 234th anniversary of Independence, and we know its value. Armenians have contributed significantly to the development of the U.S., and I strongly believe that our further cooperation will be fruitful," stressed Hillary Clinton, adding that she is happy with the welcome of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. She was especially impressed by a big cake with the U.S. flag.

The U.S. Secretary of State noted that the Karabakh conflict resolution, Armenian-Turkish normalization, Armenian-American cooperation and issues of democracy were in the focus of discussion with the Armenian side.
