It’s not always when Armenian state agencies act in accord with the Constitution, this being the according consequence of insufficient constitutional structure, according to Felix Tokhyan, member of the RA Constitutional Court.
“Each citizen should be aware of the significance of the Constitution,” he told a news conference on July 5.
“Presently, in Armenia the mostly violated constitutional provision is Article 3, reading: ‘The human being, his/her dignity and the fundamental human rights and freedoms are an ultimate value.’ We all are to blame for that, as our citizens are passive in defending their rights,” he added.
As to the Constitutions of neighbor countries, Tokhyan noted that Azerbaijan registered regress with adopting the latest constitutional amendments envisaging the President's sole power.
“Georgia’s Constitution is similar to ours,” he said.
