The Artsakh Republic authorities did receive OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ request to visit the republic’s security zone and were given a positive reply.
“International mediators visited security zone in 2005 and can do so again,” head of the information department at the office of the Artsakh Republic President, David Babayan, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
“As to media reports where I allegedly said that NKR gave consent to deployment of peacekeepers in the security zone, these are untrue. Neither could I use ‘occupied territories’ term. The Artsakh Republic doesn’t need peacekeepers. Its defense army is efficient enough to ensure security of the population,” Babayan stated.
