RA Chambers of Commerce and Industry and ABBC sign agreement on cooperation

On July 8, the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and Armenian-British Business Chamber (ABBC) signed an agreement on cooperation. Chairman of the CCI Martin Sargsyan said that the Armenian community of England serves a serious instrument for the development of the Armenian-British economic ties.

“The RA CCI aims to assist them and establish new ties. I believe that ABBC can become the best partner for us in this issue,” noted Sargsyan.

For his part, ABBC head Alan Kuchukian noted that Armenia and Great Britain will be able to exchange experience in the financial-banking and insurance sectors, as Armenia will be developing as a regional financial center, while London is the world financial center. Besides, cooperation can develop in tourism.

The trade turnover between Armenia and Great Britain totaled $34.2bln in 2009 against $87.6bln in 2008. Meanwhile, export from Armenia made $40.8mln, while import - $46.8mln.
