Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received French Senator, Chairman of the French-Armenian friendship group Serge Lagauche, as well as the delegation accompanying him.

During the meeting, Mr. Sargsyan briefed the delegation on recent developments in and concerns over the Armenian-Turkish normalization and Karabakh conflict settlement.

The Armenian President hailed the activity of the French-Armenian friendship group, due to which unbiased information about Armenia is disseminated in France.

Besides, Mr. Sargsyan expressed gratitude to France for its contribution to the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, stressing the role of the French parliament in it.

For his part, Serge Lagauche noted that the process of the Armenian Genocide recognition should be advanced with a new vigor to prevent international indifference, as a result of which another crime of the 20th century against humanity took place: the genocide in Rwanda.

Besides, the parties attached importance to boosting relations among Armenian and French parliamentarians in European structures.
