Turkey, EU hold meeting in Istanbul

Top officials from Turkey and the European Union met in Istanbul for talks on Turkey's EU membership bid, as well as a range of regional issues.

The EU delegation headed by foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton also included Stefan Fule, the EU Enlargement Commissioner. They met with Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, and Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis.

The ministerial-level political dialogue meeting discussed counter-terrorist measures, the latest constitutional reform efforts, Iran's nuclear program, the Israeli raid on a Turkish-led aid flotilla.
