Shirak Torosyan: Georgia seeks to rid itself of Javakhk’s Armenian factor

Georgian authorities pursue anti-Armenian policy in Javakhk with impunity, exploiting Armenia’s communicational dependence. They’re openly stating that any discussion of Javakhk Armenians’ national issues exacerbates Armenia-Georgia relations, RPA parliamentary group member, head of Javakhk expatriates' community Shirak Torosyan stated.

As he told a news conference in Yerevan, Georgia seeks to rid itself of Javakhk’s Armenians to deprive RA from the factor of influence on Georgia.

Shirak Torosyan himself is still disallowed into the territory of Georgia. “A month ago, US Embassy in Georgia invited me to participate in Tbilisi’s panel discussion on Georgia’s national minorities issues. Still, Georgian authorities refused to grant me an entrance into the country,” Armenian MP concluded.
