Legends are composed about longest ropeway

Residents of Halidzor village, Syunik region of Armenia, do not believe that the longest ropeway in the world will be constructed in their village.

The village residents attribute the construction works to a uranium deposit to allow transportation of uranium via the road, head of construction works of the ropeway and infrastructures Artashes Ghazakhetsyan told journalists. Besides, they think that the repaired ropeway of Jermuk was transported to their village.

Meanwhile, Ghazakhetsyan noted that ropeways of similar class are produced at factories, including all small parts of it.

Artashes Ghazakhetsyan explained the village residents' distrust by lack of any positive thing in their life for a long time.

Referring to positive changes that the ropeway leading to Tatev monastery will bring to Halidzor village, Ghazakhetsyan noted that first of all the road will be completely rehabilitated. Besides, the ropeway construction will contribute to growth in tourists' interest towards Tatev monastery. Second, Tatev complex will become an alternative to traditional tourist sites (Garni, Geghard and Lake Sevan.)

“Previously it was difficult to get to Syunik region due to the long distance and heavy-going road, what has affected tourists’ decision on holiday destination. Meanwhile, the situation will change now,” concluded Artashes Ghazakhetsyan.
