38.2% growth recorded in brandy production in Armenia in January-June 2010

5mln liters of brandy were produced in Armenia in January-June 2010 that is 38.2% higher as compared with the same period of last year. According to the National Statistical Service, 4mln liters of vodka were produced during the first six months of 2010 that is 26.1% lower as compared with the same period of last year.

Besides, 2mln liters of wine were produced in January-June 2010 against 1.5mln liters in 2009 (32.3% growth was recorded).

Meanwhile, 7mln liters of beer were produced during the first six months of 2010 that is 55.5% higher as compared with the same period of last year. Production of sparkling wines grew by 40.3%, amounting to 98.6thous. liters.

In addition, 1.4% drop was recorded in production of soft drinks, totaling 16.3mln liters.
