Karine Nalchajyan: potentially dangerous person was drafted into army

Recent incident in the Armenian Army, claiming the lives of 6 soldiers is a consequence of a mistake in one of the chains of the system, which, however, must not compromise the whole Armenian Army, according to psychologist Karine Nalchajyan .

As she stated at August 2 news conference, as a result of the mistake, potentially dangerous person was drafted into army. “Deaths of 6 soldiers could be prevented, had the medical committee conducted a more thorough examination,” the psychologist stated.

“Currently a number of improvements have been implemented in the framework of Armenian Army reform program, to hopefully avoid such incidents in future. However, the incident described could have occurred and is still occurring in many countries,” Karine Nalchajyan concluded.

On July 28, six servicemen died as a result of incident caused by rough violation of combat duty rules: Lieutenant Vardges Tadevosyan (Yerevan), as well as conscripts Gurgen Hovsepyan (Echmiadzin), Andranik Sargsyan (Yerevan), Robert Hovhannisyan (Vanadzor), Artyom Manasyan (Charentsavan) and Karo Ayvazyan (Yerevan).
