Serj Tankian: rumors on my possible participation in Eurovision confused Turkish government

World-known musician Serj Tankian spoke about recent rumors claiming his participation in Eurovision song contest.

“I didn’t have any idea about Eurovision, when in 2008 a Finnish reporter asked me if I plan to bring SOAD into the contest to raise Armenian Genocide awareness. I replied that I could look into it to see what it was.”

“Later, an article confirming my participation was published.”

“Initially, I had no intention to perform at Eurovision. However, on noticing rumors on my participation in Eurovision confused Turkish government, I thought of undertaking some steps in this direction. And should SOAD participate, Armenian Genocide issue would be surely featured in our performance,” the singer stated.
