The project, initiated by Tony Iommi and Ian Gillan to assist musical school in Gyumri is a great idea, world-known musician Serj Tankian believes.

“Recently I was contacted by the artists’ managers, and we started to explore optimal collaboration ways. However, unsuitable timing and mismatched agenda prevented me from joining them in events conducted,” the rock-musician stated at August 12 news conference.

As Serj Tankian noted, the musicians planned to make Black Sabbath songs, performed by Serj Tankian available at iTunes to aid the school.

He also commented on possibility of collaboration with Armenian rock bands. “I’m familiar with several Armenian rock bands in RA and Los Angeles. However, I like good music regardless of genre. I have no national preferences and will be ready to play with any professional band.”
