Turkey is awaiting Jivan Gasparyan’s participation in Peace Concert to take place in Istanbul in September. The renowned duduk player has not confirmed his participation yet.

“I should consult with my friends to take a final decision,” he told reporters on August 13.

Commenting on the modern Armenian pop music, Gasparyan said it’s distorted because of intersection of Turkish, Arab and European tunes.

“Folk music should be basis of the Armenian culture,” he emphasized.
