Turkey and Azerbaijan can see Russia’s weak point in Georgia-related issue, using Ankara-Baku union strengthening as an additional leverage of pressure on Moscow, former NKR foreign minister Arman Melikyan believes.

“There’s a limited time frame for Moscow to resolve Karabakh issue,” Melikyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Unless Russia manages to settle Karabakh conflict in the frameworks of its current policy, by giving liberated territories over to Azerbaijan, in order to strengthen its position in Baku, in 10 years the task might be unsolvable to Russia,” he pointed out.

As ex-foreign minister noted, Ilham Aliyev’s recent statement on the impossibility for Karabakh to have any status outside Azerbaijan proves Baku’s position remains unchanged.
