Commenting on the impact of prolongation of the term of Russian military base’s presence in Armenia on the Russian-Georgian relations, Director of the Institute of Political and Social Studies of the Black Sea and Caspian region, Vladimir Zakharov, said that the Russian-Georgian relations are in a deadlock.

Russia will not negotiate with Georgia as long as the country is led by Mikheil Saakashvili, Zakharov said during Yerevan-Moscow TV space bridge.

He noted that the situation after August 8, 2008, has forced the entire South Caucasus and bordering countries to revise many issues.

For his part, Head of the Department of Political Studies of Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan said that the Russian-Georgian relations are so complicated that the Russian military base in Gyumri may not have an impact on their development.

According to Minasyan, it will not affect the Armenian-Georgian relations either.
