Representative of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Vladimir Karapetyan said that in the last UN resolution on Karabakh, Azerbaijan is making a new step towards revelation of the “occupant.” The document makes a reference to the Geneva convention on international conflicts, Karapetyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

According to Karapetyan, through the resolution Azerbaijan is trying to distort the conflict essence. “It is an attempt to turn the issue of NKR's sef-determination into a territorial dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan. As the international community considers the regions around NKR to be occupied, in case of the resolution adoption the “occupant” will be revealed as well,” the ANC representative said.

Commenting on statement of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan that “Armenia will take certain steps against the resolution,” Vladimir Karapetyan noted that Armenia should have submitted its own resolution to the UN General Assembly concerning the fact that Azerbaijan does not follow the reached agreements and permanently violates the ceasefire regime. “Unfortunately, the RA Foreign Ministry has not done it,” concluded Karapetyan.
