ARMENIA IS READY TO CONTINUE TALKS ON NAGORNO KARABAKH ACCORDING TO PARISIAN PRINCIPLES
In course of the meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Elizabeth Jones President of Armenia Robert Kocharian stated that Yerevan was ready to continue the negotiation process on Nagorno Karabakh on the basis of the principles achieved in Paris and Key West. Jones noted that economic cooperation between the two conflicting parties could have contributed to mitigation of Armenian-Azerbaijani confrontation. Robert Kocharian agreed with her and emphasized that Armenia had repeatedly come out with such an initiative but had not found understanding from the Azerbaijani side. Speaking about possible changes in the negotiation process connected with change of the American Co-Chairman of OSCE Minsk Group, Elizabeth Jones noted that appointment of Rudolf Perina for the position of Kerry Cavano would not tell on the US policy concerning the issue of the Karabakh conflict settlement. In her words, the new Co-Chairman will continue his predecessor's policy. Jones also noted that the Minsk Group had made much progress.
