Yerevan Brandy Company to purchase 29,000t of grapes this year

CEO of Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC) Ara Grigoryan said that YBC will purchase 29,000t of grapes at the price of AMD 130/1kg for its branches in Armavir and Aygevan and AMD 120/1kg for its branch in Tavush region in 2010.

Grape harvesting and stocking will be in compliance with the highest world standards this year, Grigoryan told journalists on September 14.

The procurement will launch at Armavir branch on September 15, while at Aygevan (Ararat region) and Berd (Tavush region) branches– on September 16 and 22 respectively.

In 2010, YBC signed 5,640 agreements with 6,500 farmers. Sums for the procured grapes will be paid into the farmers’ accounts within 10 days following the procurement.

“We will buy only high-quality grape, as we provide farmers with fertilizers, sprayers and pesticides during the year,” Grigoryan said, adding that grape harvest is 30% higher in 2010 as compared with last year.
