An official resolution to set a cross on the dome of Holy Cross Church on Akhtamar has long been ready, Van Governor Munir Karaoglu reports.

The Governor cited technical issues to be resolved within the next 1,5 months as the reason for delay.

A company in charge of church restoration will be assigned with setting of the cross, Haberler reported.

The September 19 liturgy at Holy Cross Church was served by the Archbishop Aram Ateshian served the liturgy. Istanbul Armenian community attended the mass. Holy Sees of Cilicia and Echmiadizn, Jerusalem Patriarchate, as well as a number of diaspora organizations refused to participate in the ceremony.
